DAZ STUDIOのオフィシャルガイドが発売されていた。

ダウンロードじゃなく、紙の英語の解説本なのだが、付属しているオマケCDがただごとじゃあない。
Victoria4 , Michael4 のバンドルセットに加え、 Aiko4 、Hiro4 のバンドルが付属。さらに、Carrara6 Pro（統合3DCGソフト）、Hexagon（モデリングソフト）までが付属している。
この本、amazonでは3,000円ちょっと。この値段なら、おまけ目当てで買ってみるのもいいだろう。私はすでに、ほとんどのおまけフィギュアをフツーに買ってしまっているが。
目次はこんな感じ。たぶん、基本部分を一通り解説したような、初心者向けガイドブックなんだと思う。
227ページ、英語だ。
DAZでも購入できるのだが、在庫があるうちはamazonで購入したほうが安心だと思う。（→DAZの商品詳細ページ）
私は以前、DAZでCD入りの製品を購入したが、普通郵便でぽん、と送られてきてびっくりした覚えがあるのだ。それでもオレはDAZで購入するんだ、という人は、自分の住所が正しく登録されているかどうかをちゃんと確認しておこう。
自分の住所は、MyAccount→Account PreferencesのShipping Addressesで確認・変更が可能だ。
ちなみにDAZで購入すると、送料を入れて$30ちょっとくらいになり、値段はamazonで購入するのと大して変わらないようだ。
DAZ ＳＴＵＤＩＯのスクリプトを解説する本が出たらちょっと買ってみたいなあ、と思いつつ、今回の覚書を終わる。
追記） DAZ の フォーラムにて、Carraraのシリアル番号が付属していないことが問題になっている。

I've written to sales support asking;
1. Is this for real?
2. If so, are there both Mac and PC versions?, and
3. How do you get your serial numbers.
I bought C7 Standard last night for about $175. If this book really comes with C6Pro and it's a full license eligible for upgrades, I could upgrade to C7Pro for under $120, so it would be a great deal indeed!
I'll let you know the answer I get, unless somebody confirms it here firstYes, the book includes a DVD-ROM that is a hybrid disc with content and applications available for both MAC and WIN users.
YES, the Hexagon 2.5 and Carrara 6 Pro apps included are FULL versions, though it appears, from what a few users have reported, that the publisher may have failed to include serial numbers. We're inquiring about that with them right now.
Anyone who purchases the book through our store will receive serial numbers in their account (we've just added that, so go check your account again if you've already purchased the book from us).
As for those who purchase the book through other retailers, I'm not sure what your options are yet, but we'll let you know what the publisher says.
YES, this book is great and will teach you lots of great things about DAZ Studio and 3D in general. I believe it is geared mostly for novice to intermediate 3D artists.

ざっくり必要なところだけ抜き出すと、こんな感じ。
「Hexagon2.5とCarrara6Proのフルバージョンが付属している。しかし、何人かのユーザがすでに報告しているように、出版社がシリアル番号を入れていなかったかも知れない。我々（DAZ）は現在、これらのことについて問い合わせを行っている。
DAZ経由で購入した人には、MyAccountにシリアル番号が現れる。しかし、他の経由（amazonなど）で購入した人の選択肢については我々にはわからない。ただし、出版社が言ってきた内容については追って知らせるようにする」
ということらしい。新情報が出次第、さらに追記することにしよう。
